As of September 2026, WeTransfer Free lets you send up to 10 transfers or 3GB in total, whichever you reach first, in any rolling 30-day window. One 3GB transfer uses the whole allowance.
A Rolling 30-Day Window
The window is not a calendar month. Each transfer frees up its slot 30 days after you sent it, so a busy week can lock you out for most of the following month.
Links Expire After 3 Days
Free transfers stay available for up to 3 days. If your client is travelling or out for a long weekend, the link can expire before they open it.
Free Is for Non-Commercial Use
WeTransfer's pricing page lists Free as "for individual, non-commercial use only". If you are sending files to clients, WeTransfer expects you to be on a paid plan.
