Desktop app

A lightweight menu bar app for macOS and Windows. Drag files onto the icon, paste screenshots, share a link in seconds.

Download

Grab the installer from the desktop download page:

  • macOS.dmg for Apple Silicon or Intel
  • Windows.msi for x86_64

The app is code-signed and notarized. Releases are published on GitHub.

Features

  • Menu bar (macOS) / system tray (Windows) — always reachable, stays out of your dock.
  • Drag & drop — drop files directly onto the tray icon to start an upload.
  • Screenshot captureCmd+Shift+S (macOS) or Ctrl+Shift+S (Windows) takes a region screenshot, uploads it, and copies the link to your clipboard.
  • Upload history — see and copy links from recent uploads.
  • Per-upload settings — password, expiry, and burn-after-reading on any file.
  • Auto-updates — checks on launch and hourly. Installs quietly in the background.

Sign-in (optional)

Uploads work fully anonymously. Sign in to:

  • Attach uploads to your account (visible in your dashboard)
  • Use premium features like permanent files and larger storage quota

When you click "Sign in" in the app, your browser opens and hands a Sanctum token back to the app after authentication. Log out from the app's menu to revoke the token.

System requirements

  • macOS 10.15 Catalina or later (Apple Silicon & Intel)
  • Windows 10 1809 or later (x86_64)

Troubleshooting

  • macOS won't open it: right-click the app → Open (only needed once for first-time unsigned builds). Signed releases don't require this.
  • Screenshot shortcut conflicts: other apps may bind the same hotkey. Change your system screenshot shortcut in System Settings → Keyboard.
  • Upload failing: check status.storage.to. The app sends error reports automatically — reach out if it's persistent.
